My Kid Could Paint That-the movie

I heard about this a couple of months ago, and now it's featured on the NY Times Video: Arts/Movies podcast....

If the art had been done by an adult would it alter it's "believability"? Something tells me I just opened a can of worms...

Oyyyy--this is such a loaded topic. The way I'd frame it: art comes out of community--sometimes we need the community to "understand" the art. Our Thursday night group is such a community, in an important way--and the understanding of each other's work grows week by week. How one writes this large, against the whole culture, is a challenge--especially when everything is so highly media-ated (this film included). Maybe what it suggests is that we need a high level of skepticism (along with genuine enthusiasm)... we can discuss as a group!
